The Tear Trough…

A tricky, yet gratifying place to fill- the tear trough.  If eyes are the windows to the soul, you want them to be as close to perfect as possible.  Genetics play a huge role in the shape and structure of your face… If you have lower eye bags, or sunken in eyes with volume loss at the cheek junction, it’s likely your mom or dad have the same trait.
In the case of severe under eye bags, a lower blepharoplasty is the best solution and I will be happy to share referrals with you of some outstanding Austin Occuloplastic surgeons.  This could be an easy in-office procedure that has little down time and more permanent results.
If surgery is not what you’re looking for, soft tissue fillers can make a great improvement.  I often start with one syringe and Restylane is my go-to product for this area.  It is less hydrophilic than most HA fillers, meaning it does not pull in water like some of the other dermal fillers.  I have also had great success with Voluma under the eyes.  Take a look at my clients and the progression of correction that we obtained after several treatments.

Though bruising is unlikely with my technique, you can expect swelling for a few days after.  The filler will settle over two weeks and there will be a follow up scheduled at that time.  We will then decide if we are happy or perhaps, could use a little more…
